It may be true that it was just an original morning but things in the ministry of magic were everything but original. Everyone knew that soon it was the time. Soon Bellatrix Lestrange's trial would begin and the ministry would finally send her to Azkaban along with her husband. Because of this each and every person in the ministry seemed to be busy, walking around the building with stressed expressions on their faces. Every face except for one that belonged to Rita Skeeter, the famous reporter who was known for her quick quote quill, nasty words and infallible talent to smell a scandal. The woman was carrying a conceited smile on her small lips as gesturing the doubtful photographer, Bozo, to follow her. Rita didn't have to tell him that she knew exactly what she was doing. He should have learned that during the past years, no matter how hard it was to teach him anything. He wasn't the best example of an intellectual, Rita might say.
Rita Skeeter wasn't one of those people who usually wanted to look unnoticeable. This time, however, the blonde was wearing a black dress that was rather hard to see since most of it was hidden behind a long, light grey jacket. Rita wasn't even wearing much make up, just some mascara and face powder. Based on these details one should be able to tell that the woman definitely was not trying to steal anyone's attention. She was trying to do the opposite. But before Rita needed to be as invisible as possible, she would have to find the minister of magic. Urgently. She was the only person who could help her to get her revenge on Bellatrix Lestrange, nee Black, who was one of those thingyy purebloods who had immediately started disliking Rita after her witch mother had passed away. Soon Rita would have the chance to tell everyone how Bellatrix was sent to Azkaban. But, first she would need a permission.
Finally, Rita spotted the minister of magic, Millicent Bagnold, standing in front of the court hall, a few men by her side. As beginning to walk faster, the reporter had to swallow her pride, and jealousy. She was more than aware of the fact that Millicent Bagnold wasn't the one for being manipulated. Rita would have to treat the woman with respect, so she would let her to see the trial, and write an article about it. An article that would give her more satisfaction than firewhiskey could ever give. That was a lot. So, Rita changed her self-absorbed smile into a respectful one, checking from the corner of her eye that Bozo was still following her. Sometimes she wondered what the man could do without her. But he wasn't important right then, the important person was only a few meters away from Rita. It was the time to play her part.
"Good morning, Millicent. Long time no see, don't you think?" Rita spoke with a smiling face, looking at the minister before nodding at the direction of the two men who she couldn't name. All she could tell was that they weren't too young anymore. "Good morning, Rita. Hunting for a nice story to tell in the Daily Prophet, are you?" Rita wasn't too pleased to hear these kinds of words slipping out of Millicent's mouth but she forced her smile to stay on. Otherwise she would have to forget about her revenge and that was something she definitely wasn't ready to do. Never. "Actually, I was thinking that maybe I could bring some good news to people by telling them that Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange have finally been imprisoned. I'm sure everyone would love hear good news now after everything that has happened." The reporter wasn't trying to hide her aim, mostly because of the fact that someone as smart as the minister of magic could certainly guess them without her actually stating them. "And you came here to view the trial?" Millicent's right eyebrow seemed to rise a bit. "I'd love to. But naturally, I couldn't do something like that without having your permission." Rita had to try very hard to hide the disgust caused by the fact that Millicent had the power to decide what Rita could do, and what not.
It was silent for a while. Millicent looked at Rita with a curious expression on her somewhat palish, yet pretty face. Then, she spoke. "Fine, but I insist you to take your notes very silently." A satisfied smile found Rita's face, which is probably why Millicent repeated a part of her previous sentence. "Very silently." Rita nodded her head and replied in a friendly manner. "Of course." She turned to look at Bozo who was standing about five meters away from her, and she flashed a smile at him. The minister of magic seemed not to miss even this small turn of Rita's head. "But your photographer isn't allowed to enter the hall, you are aware of that, aren't you?" Millicent certainly looked like she meant her question. As if Rita didn't know the rules! This annoyed the blonde reporter but she managed to let the empty smile linger on her face as stating the thing that was obvious from her opinion. "Naturally. He will only take some pictures as the happy marriage couple arrives." Much to Rita's surprise, Millicent let out a controlled laugh. "I have a feeling that he won't be able to do that. Lestranges are already in the hall."
Rita laughed a bit too, but after saying her goodbye to the minister of magic and telling Bozo to wait for her, Rita walked quickly yet quietly into the court hall and bit her lips so hard that the taste of blood found her tongue. How dared the minister laugh at her!
